Judi just tasted the chardonnay.

We arrived in Salem, Oregon on the evening of March 28th, 2006 after a cross country journey of 2,785 miles. Our "Oregon trail" began on March 24th departing from the city of Mobile, Alabama. Our "Covered wagons" were two Penske trucks, 26 and 16 feet, Rodney, Joe, Brian, Brad, and Michael helped us load them up. We placed the 5 puppies in two cages in the back of the Nissan Frontier and drove away. Michael and Holly Mann shared the adventure with us.
Judi just tasted the chardonnay.
Bad light composition, but good wine.

These are pics of our third stop. I am feeling "no pain" by now, several shots of wine are doing the job. The winery RedHawk had the most variety and best food selection. Their Pinot noir "Greatful Red" was excellent; Mike adquired a bottle of this wine. To be fair, I couldn't tell the difference on most of their selection either because the food was rich in flavor or my taste buds were already overpowered by previous samples. Maybe, I was just tipsy and couldn't tell the difference. Either way I sample them all.
The clip is out of focus, nothing I can do about that now. I'll do better in the future. I tried to fix the problem of downloading. I also had to shrink the player size to fit the page template. If you still having problems enjoying the clip, let me know.
This are pics of our second hike. Click on the post title to link with the trail information page. The weather was excellent it almost reached 73 degrees. We had to drive to Mt. Hood which was beautiful but we neglected to take too many pics today. We took Chester and Morena to hike with us. They seemed to love it.
For those of you that have expressed a desire to have a pic of the house; Here is a teaser. The inside of the house is in the middle of a metamorphosis. Judi has me painting and moving furniture around; Talking about slave driver :-) so, you can only see the outside for now. As you noticed, we have no fence and the yard is actually a hill and there are only 3 patches of grass to be cut. It only takes me 5 minutes to cut the grass, but it takes me 45 minutes to clean the mess. I have big plans in regards of landscaping but they keep changing as weeks go by. We are definitely getting a fence so the puppies have a free range of motion. More pics will be posted as rooms become completed and receive Judi's seal of approval :-). By the way you should sing along when you read the title of this post. If you recognize the song you are an old fart like us :-)
This is Chester. Chester is our first puppy and the onlyone with an american name. He is a 3 years old midget size golden lab. Chester was found wandering next to the road in Mobile county, Alabama and we adopt him. Chester has gained quite a few pounds since he was neutered. Chester is a pervert who loves to groom the other dogs of the pack. Chester seems shy but is just to lure others to approach him for grooming. Chester is a loner and the only one in the pack that does not follow Suave. Chester has developed allergies on his paws and he spends his time biting at them. I believe that is a compulsive behavior to satisfy his perverted ways. He takes medication for his allergies twice a day. Chester loves Judi and follows her where ever she goes. Chester is, without a doubt, a character.
This is Suave, "Suave" is spanish for soft. Suave's coat was very soft as a puppy, now is not "suave" no more. Suave is also 3 years old and arrived about a week after Chester "the molester" to be his companion. Chester was crazy about Suave, he follewed her everywhere until the next two arrived. Yes, two more. Suave was taken from a lady at the parking lot of a pet shop. We believed her to be a Beagle, but turn out to be a Walker Hound (coon hunter). Suave is not the brightest bulb in the box, but she is the alpha female. Suave loves the new puppy, hates cats, and is close to Luis. Without Suave there will no one to blame for stupidity.
This is Morena. "Morena" is spanish for black girl. I do not think I have to explain her name, Do I? Morena is 2 years old and the coward of the pack. Morena and Campeon arrived together. Morena is scared of her own shadow and men. She is shy, meek and a gentle soul. She loves her ears rubbed and her base of the tail scratched. Morena has no best buddies in the pack due to her personality, so she gets protected by us quite a bit. Morena does not demand attention and coward up when the other dogs attemp to play with her. Morena is our gentle girl.
This is Campeon. "Campeon" is spanish for champion. When Campeon arrived, He was a little piece of fur that fit in Judi's bath robe pocket. Campeon took no crap from the other three dogs when they approached to smell him and feed from his bowl. Campeon chased them away in a Campeon's way. He is the brat of the pack since mama lets him get away with murder. His the only one allowed in the couch and bed. If all other dogs were killed, and a trail of blood went from their cages to his, and he was found with a bloody knife on his mouth, and a D.N.A. testing proof his was the guilty party you could hear Judi say: "NOT MY BOY". Campeon loves his mama and chase any other dog away from her, His has not tried to chase me away, yet. Campeon is a lot of dog in a little body.
This is Cafe, our last arrival. "Cafe" is spanish for coffee. In latin america we drink our morning coffee with froth milk and called it "Cafe con leche". The color is a sort of brown; that should explain the name. Now, Starbuck is proud that they came up with a new fad called cafe latte. I guess, If you order saute snails they may call it escargot. Cafe is just 6 or 7 moths old. He should have been called hemorroids since he is such a pain. He barks for no reason, runs around the house for no reason, and wakes us up in the middle of the night to smell the outdoors. He will be neutered on May 11th, not my idea. Cafe is just a good young puppy. He is obedient and loyal. Cafe does not take crap from the other dogs either and seem to get agry when picked on. Cafe may be our best guard dog yet.
Here are some pics of our first (of many yet to come) hiking trip. The weather was excellent, temperature in the mid high 60's and sunny. The information about the trail can be found by clicking the title.
